THE CORRECT ANSWER IS "SKILL"

The correct answer is............SKILL. Will Pigg is correct. The best players can not be that lucky all the time. Look at the stats of the most prestigious domino competition in the US, The World Championship Domino Tournament(www.worlddomino.com). You will notice in the 35 year history of the tournament consisting of approximately 20,000 players, two players have won the tournament 28.5% of the time, Harold Marler and James Morgan (Morgan died in 1990)both of Mississippi. Get this, 3 players have won the tournament 37% of the time and 7 players have won 60% of the time. It is impossible to be that lucky. The reason players win consistenly is because this is a game of skill. Skill players have the ability to create luck. I always say, "you have to be skillful at what you are doing to be lucky." Unskilled or the less skillful players win because of luck and chance. Of course chance plays a part. Many of you have seen an unskilled player mess up good domino hands. Skilled players would much rather play another player of skill. Thank all of your for your responses. The ones who said "chance" were not wrong. It's just that the most correct answer is "skill."
